Phlomis russeliana

Phlomis russeliana is a tough, coarse perennial, with a basal rosette of large, crinkly dark greyish-green leaves. In summer, it bears woody stems to about 3' tall with dense whorls of large hooded yellow flowers.

Seed Pod There is no seed pod. The seeds are at the bottom of the large calyx, forming prickly
balls around the stem for each whorl.

Seed The seeds are large oval dark brown nutlets. Each individual flower produces four seeds.
