Lobelia cardinalis

Lobelia cardinalis is one of the best-known of the perennial Lobelias. It forms a dense basal rosette of bronzy leaves, and in late summer produces leafy stems topped by spikes of brilliant red flowers with white stamens.

It does particularly well in damp situations.
