Dianthus pavonius

Dianthus pavonius is more suitable for a specialist alpine garden than a rockery, because of its small size. It forms a tight cushion of bluish pointed leaves, only an inch or so high, and in summer bears relatively large flowers in pale pink.

It is also suitable for grwoing in troughs.
